REESOR – Tracy Tabitha (Soyka)
Peacefully, at Sakura House, on Saturday July 27, 2019. Surrounded by her family after a short but tough battle with cancer.
Born November 24, 1955 in Hindelang, Germany. She grew up in Ada, Michigan and attended Western Michigan University where she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts & Art History.
She moved to Canada in 1979 after her marriage to Steve Reesor and spent her remaining years here, raising her family.
Beginning her career as curator at Glenbow Museum (Calgary) and Centre in the Square (Kitchener) her passion later turned to teaching. Tracy was an employee of the Thames Valley District School Board for over 25 years, teaching adult education in Ingersoll and more recently at Blossom Park in Woodstock. She also worked with Ingersoll Learning & Employment Resource Centre and the Women’s Employment Resource Centre in Woodstock.
She had a lifelong passion with horseback riding and caring for horses. She enjoyed spending time at the barn and out on the trails with her horses. Many friendships were formed over the years.
Tracy is survived by her sons Neil (Cheryl) and Matt (Courtney) of Woodstock and her granddaughters Aimee (aka Sweet Pea) and Zooey (aka Zoodle Bug).
Sister to Mark (Vicki) Soyka, Chris Soyka, and Pete Soyka, all of Lowell MI. Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews in Michigan.
Pre-deceased by her parents Arlene Soyka and Matthew Soyka, biological Mother Ingeborg Ploecks, and brother Wolfgang Vater .
Lovingly remembered by her father-in-law Ron Reesor, many co-workers and riding friends, and by her “furry kids” Chloe and Louie.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 3rd at 12:00 pm at Ody’s Restaurant (Quality Hotel & Suites), 580 Bruin Blvd, Woodstock, ON., N4V 1E5.
